Tuba in E♭
The Suite for Cello No. 1 in G major, BWV 1007 is part of the collection of suites probably composed in the period 1717-1723, when Bach was Kapellmeister in Cöthen. The uniformity and coherence of these works suggest that they could have been conceived as a whole or sequentially. The arrangement for Tuba introduces this instrument into the most purely baroque repertoire of music.
